SUNY Niagara
Exterior Wayfinding System

Role
Design refinement, campus map development, scaled sign layouts, production artwork, fabrication details, installation drawings, and final quality review.

The concept
A campus-wide wayfinding family that introduced SUNY Niagara’s updated identity across monument, directional, parking, building identification, and entry signs. Each application balanced clear navigation with strong brand visibility at different locations and viewing distances.

Process
I established shared rules for hierarchy, proportions, typography, color, and logo placement, then adapted them to each sign’s location and purpose. I also redesigned the campus map and carried the approved layouts into fabrication and installation documentation while coordinating with project staff, vendors, and installers.

What I learned
Wayfinding succeeds when each sign gives people the right information at the exact moment they need it. This project strengthened my ability to balance legibility, scale, placement, and brand expression across an entire campus.
