SUNY Niagara
Wayfinding Project

Exterior Campus Wayfinding Signage

Overview:

SUNY Niagara partnered with Cooper Sign Company to redesign their exterior campus signage following a major rebrand from SUNY NCCC to SUNY Niagara.

The existing system was outdated and no longer reflected the college’s new identity.

The goal was to create a cohesive, modern wayfinding system that enhances the campus navigation while showcasing the updated SUNY Niagara brand across all exterior signs.

My Role:

After the initial concept phase was developed, I took over the project and managed the design execution of the full exterior wayfinding system. My responsibilities included organizing and refining the complete family of sign types including directionals, building identification, and parking signage while ensuring consistency across the entire campus.

I prepared production-ready layouts, coordinated with fabrication, and maintained alignment with the original design vision while improving hierarchy, legibility, and system logic.

Map Redesign

Old Map

This map includes the old design as well as the locations for the new and varying sign.

New Map

I took creative liberty to design their map using their school colors.
This would be established on the wayfinding sign with a map.
